Jeffrey Botchway is a maritime educator and trainer who brings forth a proven track record of seeing the big picture and working collaborative with maritime industry stakeholders to achieve goals. He is a strong leader with the ability to solve problems, identify business opportunities and develop new markets.
He attended the Regional Maritime University where he read BSc Ports and Shipping Administration and later went on to University of Southampton, a Russel Group University in the United Kingdom to specialize in LLM Maritime Law.
Before joining MLA College, Jeffrey lectured Maritime Law at the Regional Maritime University, an ISO certified sub regional tertiary institution set up to give a comprehensive maritime education and training in Africa. He is also the Lead Consultant at Masser Afrique.
Jeffrey has made it a lifelong ambition to impact young leaders through maritime education by creating awareness and promoting opportunities within the industry. His efforts are fueled by a desire to cause a positive disruptive change in a more traditional environment. Beneficiaries are mostly students, immediate graduates and young professionals who are groomed to be solution-oriented leaders within the maritime space. This is evidenced by maritime seminars and webinars, research works, maritime entrepreneurship conferences, a career and internship fair as well as debates which has been done in collaboration with relevant maritime stakeholders in Ghana and the United Kingdom.
He also launched the Teens in Maritime Education (TiME) Project, a Ghanaian bootcamp which introduced teenagers to the maritime industry through experiential learning, industry visits and mentoring sessions.
Jeffrey who was recently engaged to contribute to the drafting of a national maritime policy framework has been invited severally on different platforms to speak on maritime issues.
