This week, MLA College joined education institutions nationwide to celebrate Chartered Week by highlighting our commitment to educational excellence and professional development.
Chartered Week provided an excellent opportunity for us to showcase the quality education we offer and how completion of these programmes can be a stepping stone towards chartership, particularly within the engineering sector.
Professor John Chudley PhD CEng FIMarEST, Rector of MLA College and also Chair of the Engineering Council, stressed the importance of Chartered week;
“Chartered Week 2025, taking place this week, marks the inaugural national awareness event celebrating the vital role of Chartered professionals across various sectors in the UK. MLA College very much supports this initiative with its programmes tailored towards mid-career professionals seeking to enhance their careers and, in some cases, work towards Chartered status. With the theme “Celebrating Trusted Professionals,” this week highlights the commitment of Chartered individuals to uphold the highest standards of competence, ethics, and accountability, thereby strengthening public trust in their respective fields. The event has garnered support from over 40 professional bodies, including the Engineering Council, the Society for the Environment, and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, showcasing a unified dedication to professional excellence. Throughout the week, numerous events and activities have been organised to showcase professional achievements and illuminate pathways to Chartered status, underscoring the collective success and impact of Chartered professionals in society today.”
Dr. Paul Folan, programme lead at MLA said “At MLA College, our Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering Management aims to address skill gaps by equipping professionals with the knowledge and competencies needed to excel in industry and meet the evolving demands of engineering employers. The programme is structured to be studied part-time to suit busy schedules, and via distance learning to minimise travel disruption, thus offering maximum flexibility to accommodate the busy schedules of professional engineers.”
“We understand the importance of professionals developing their skills within their current workplace. Our aim is to ensure that those who study with us can enhance their engineering expertise without having to leave their familiar work environment, and whilst working towards chartered status.”
At MLA College, we are proud to celebrate Chartered Week by affirming our commitment to the highest educational standards.
