We have recently received registration from the Office for Students and are now a registered Higher Education Institution in England, and our organisation is growing. As a result, an exciting opportunity has arisen in our Programme Services department and we are now seeking to appoint a Programme Officer specialising in academic partnership operations.

About the role

This role is based at the MLA College campus in Plymouth.  We are looking for a creative Junior Graphic Designer to join our team.  As part of the Sales, Marketing & Recruitment team, the primary function will be to create designs according to specifications adhering to our in-house branding guidelines.  You will be well versed in using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and have original ideas and a keen eye for detail. There will be opportunity for you to use your creative flare in order to promote our range of distance learning degree programmes.  Designs for graphics will include; publication adverts, web banners, social media graphics, newsletter and more.

This job will suit a graduate looking to start their career.

Key responsibilities

  1. To use Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign to create a range of marketing collateral for our suite of degree programmes for advertising purposes, working closely with the marketing and production teams.
  2. To source a range of imagery using a range of providers available.
  3. To assist in maintaining our social media channels and digital mailing.
  4. To create a series of digital marketing campaigns working closely with the Head of Marketing and wider team.
  5. Work in line with the in-house branding guidelines.
  6. Be able to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  7. Provide support to the Marketing and Production Team in other activities that may be required.

Personal criteria

  • Qualifications

    Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

  • Knowledge and Skills

    A thorough understanding of Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign and knowledge of design techniques.

    Experience of sourcing imagery using a variety of systems

    A talent for creativity and ability to pitch new ideas

    Be proficient in the use of MS Office

    Ability to pay close attention to detail as well as good English

    Ability to cope with conflicting demands and prioritise their own work effectively.

    Able to use initiative and work independently, being a self-starter and positively influencing others through a proactive approach.

    Having good time management skills

    The ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines

    Desirable (not essential): photography skills

  • Experience

    Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential

 

Salary

£20,000 per year.

Digital Production Assistant

As a result, an exciting opportunity has arisen in our Programme Services department and we are now seeking to appoint a Programme Officer specialising in student finance operations.

About the role

This role is based at the MLA College campus in Plymouth.  As many new courses are now under development MLA College are looking for a Digital Production Assistant who is confident, energetic, self-driven and innovative, someone who has a passion for creating complex digital projects within challenging time-frames!

Working with the Production Manager, Digital Manager, and Marketing Team, the post holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining our bespoke learning platform, the Total Learning Platform (TLP), creating new e-learning materials, and assisting the marketing team with producing and editing marketing content.  You will have a thorough understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (or similar) and knowledge of design techniques.

About you

The main responsibilities of the Digital Production Assistant will be to assist the Production Manager and Digital Manager with the creation and delivery of complex digital projects within challenging timeframes. Other duties will include:

  • Maintain and update existing digital content.
  • Take responsibility for the creation of new learning materials that uphold MLA College’s high standards of e-learning incorporating, video, audio, photographic and other digital assets.
  • Work with the Admissions Team to ensure all students have access to their correct modules and discussion forums, via the MLA College website.
  • Contribute ideas to the progression of MLA College’s delivery of e-learning materials, and helping to implement these.
  • Work with the Academic Team as necessary, to create content for all Higher Education programmes and training courses.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to create and edit a range of digital marketing content.
  • Meet corporate and individual targets.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continued personal development.

 

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Production Manager, who may not be available on a day to day basis so the post-holder needs to be self-reliant. Other essential attributes and experience required include the following:

  • Experience of working in a professional production environment.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Be motivated by a passion for quality and impeccable service delivery.
  • A flexible, outgoing and entrepreneurial personality.
  • Excellent levels of written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to rapidly build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent skills in both organisation and prioritisation.
  • High levels of ambition and an eye for detail.

 

Additional Notes

  • The successful candidate must be legally entitled to work in the UK.
  • This role may involve hours which sit outside of a standard working day
  • The successful candidate will be expected to comply with company policies and procedures
  • The successful candidate will be based in our Plymouth City Centre office
  • There may be a requirement to travel within the UK and internationally as part of this role

Salary

£22,000 - £26,000 per year
