MLA College Honoured with Silver Award at Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Ceremony
On Tuesday, 1st October 2024, MLA College was among several Devon employers awarded at the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Awards ceremony held at County Hall, Exeter. The ERS Silver Award acknowledges businesses that demonstrate exceptional support for Defence personnel, including Reservists, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, and veterans.
MLA College, alongside Alliance Pioneer Group Ltd, Low Carbon Estates Ltd, and Home Instead Tavistock & Tamar Valley, was recognised for its strong commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant. MLA supports serving members, veterans, reservists and their families through its Armed Forces Discount Scheme.
Phil Hughes, Head of Operations for MLA College said, “I am veteran myself and since I joined MLA College, I feel I have been valued for what I can bring to the college. As a company we see the benefit in the veteran, reservist and cadet force community and we are very proud to support the work they do to serve our country.
“It is fantastic to be recognised, we are very proud of our veteran community and support a number of spouses at MLA College and we are hopeful we can grow our own delivery to the wider armed forces community.”
This award follows on from MLA’s previous receipt of the Defence ERS Bronze Award and the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant in January 2023 which saw Captain Jane Roe, Commanding Officer of HMS Raleigh, visit MLA College.
MLA is among 40 organisations from across the South West that have been acknowledged for their support this year. We look forward to continuing our dedication to the Armed Forces and fostering a supportive environment for those who serve.
