MLA College’s First Graduation Ceremony: Celebrating Success in Singapore
In an inspiring milestone for MLA College, its inaugural graduation ceremony was held in Singapore with great joy and anticipation. The event, which was held at the Pan Pacific Hotel, was attended by nearly 150 guests, which included graduates, their families, and esteemed guests. The culmination of academic journeys was marked by 38 graduates receiving their degrees.
The attendance of family and friends made the day even more memorable. The event was more than just a celebration of academic achievement; it was also an opportunity to celebrate the MLA College community and its shared values of educational excellence and professional development.
With notable guests such as Lissy Vadakel, country director of British Council Singapore and Professor Yoo Sang Choo, consultant at Technology Centre for Offshore & Marine, the ceremony highlighted the importance of global collaboration and the role MLA College plays in advancing higher education internationally.
One of the most inspirational aspects of the ceremony was the recognition of students who had excelled beyond their expectations. Many graduates celebrated not only their degree but also two awards, demonstrating their hard work and commitment. Also, it was encouraging to see that a significant number of students have continued their academic journeys with MLA, pursuing second-degree programmes that demonstrate a dedication to lifelong learning.
The ceremony also featured some remarkable stories, with many students travelling unique and challenging paths to reach this point. Wayne Lim, one of the graduates, said: “I am excited to enter the next phase of my career, and looking forward to a very exciting time.” It was a sentiment shared by many graduates as they prepared to embark on new professional ventures, armed with the knowledge and skills they gained through MLA’s innovative distance learning programmes.
Professor John Chudley, the Rector of MLA College, remarked, “This is our first-ever graduation ceremony for MLA College. Our largest single group of students is here, and that is why we are in Singapore – to celebrate. We are celebrating success, celebrating distance learning and new ways of studying that enable professionals to earn their degrees without having to leave their workplace.”
The event was a celebration of academic achievement as well as a demonstration of MLA College’s commitment to make higher education accessible and flexible for working professionals all over the world. Congratulations to all of the graduates, and we look forward to hearing about your future accomplishments.
