MSc Engineering for Marine Professionals

The MSc Engineering for Marine Professionals programme consists of a stand-alone 60 credit research module, which provides the opportunity to complete a full 180 credits at Level 7 for:
- Predominantly employed engineering professionals seeking Chartered status.
- Employed professional students from the marine industry who may be qualified to BEng Level and have a significant level of professional experience.
- Students wishing to apply using general credit from other PgDip or full MSc programmes at other institutions, or as professionals from industry.
During the programme, students will have the opportunity to undertake advanced research methods training, project planning, data management and statistics; and carry out independent research as part of the MSc Project.
12 Months of part-time distance learning
Typically, a candidate for this programme will be a practicing engineer, employed in a related area of the industry and is seeking registration from the IMarEST at Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Marine Engineer (CMarEng) level.
This programme is designed to augment a candidate’s professional skills
Entry routes are flexible, and could be made up of formal academic qualifications, experience or a combination of the two. Membership of professional bodies such as IMarEST will count favourably.
