MLA College is pleased to announce it will be awarding a number of bursaries in 2024/2025 to applicants who have annual incomes of less than £25,000 (or equivalent). Bursaries will also be available for women (UK or non-UK residents) to support Women into Maritime and Women into Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM). The bursary of £500, which comes in the form of a fee reduction, will be made on completion of the enrolment process, following the production of the required evidence. Please note, this is not an annual award.
The available bursaries for successful applicants are in 3 categories:
6 bursaries of £500 for UK resident students over 25 years of age on enrolment
6 bursaries of £500 for non-UK resident students over 25 years of age on enrolment
6 bursaries of £500 for women over 25 years of age on enrolment who are UK or non-UK resident students
Eligibility to Apply For a Bursary
Be enrolled/holding an unconditional offer (as confirmed by the relevant Programme Manager) on a MLA College Higher Education programme.
Be paying the expected tuition fee, either in full or via an agreed instalment plan.

Eligible students are required to complete the Student Bursary application form which can be downloaded here. Please forward your completed application form and evidence to info@mla.ac.uk.
If a student does not provide evidence of income MLA may be unable to make an assessment of the student’s financial situation and/or award a Bursary.

Bursaries are awarded at the discretion of MLA College and are not a student entitlement.
MLA College students from the UK, and some from the EU/EEA normally residing in England or Northern Ireland, can now apply to the Student Loans Company to help support their studies.
Our Women in Maritime and Women in STEM bursaries support gender equalities in their respective sectors. This is available to all new female applicants.
If you are a student whose tuition fees are being paid by your organisation and your organisation isa member of BIMCO, they may qualify for a 20% discount.
Upon successful completion of their programme, graduates are invited to join the MLA College Alumni Society. Among other benefits, alumni receive a 25% discount for any programmes should they return to their studies with MLA College.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has announced they will continue to provide the Training Grant from the Maritime Cluster Fund (MCF). Marine and maritime citizens from Singapore can apply for up to 70% funding to study with MLA College.
MLA College has made a pledge to support the British Armed Forces Community by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. To celebrate, MLA College will provide a 10% discount on all degree programmes to all serving UK Armed Forces Personnel, Veterans and members of their immediate families.
If you are a member of a Professional Body such as the Nautical Institute, the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers or IMarEST then we want to know about it. Students who are a member of a Professional Body could receive a 10% discount on tuition fees.
